A volunteer group dedicated to being a resource for learning differences. Comprised of parents, educators and professionals, LF-LB LDA empowers and supports anyone trying to understand and improve the lives of those with learning disabilities regardless of the type or severity.
Dedicated to parents and other adults and their role in the promotion of healthy family relationships and the prevention of alcohol, drug use, and other risky behavior by youth, LEAD has served the community for over 25 years. LEAD also manages the Speak UP! Prevention Coalition, a grassroots community anti-drug coalition formed in 2006 to significantly reduce the levels of alcohol and drug use by youth in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood.
Establishes and maintains the standard of excellence for delivery of programming and services for students with disabilities based on current, state-of-the-art research and practice related to curriculum and instruction. Uses a process of research, implementation, and train-and-coach.
Speak UP! is specifically focused on reducing alcohol, marijuana, and prescription/over-the-counter drug use by youth and has established logic models and detailed strategic action plans to do so. It is a division of LEAD (see above).
