May 2018: Monthly Update:
In this issue, Dr. Sophie ask us to join her in celebrating our Lake Bluff teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. She talks about the new District website that will be launched at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, the Board's review of the draft of the Strategic Plan documents, and gives the dates for the end of the school year. Finally, she reminds us of shopping rewards at Heinen's grocery store and gives instructions for joining the District calendar.

March 2018: Monthly Update:
In this issue, Dr. Sophie gives an overview of safety practices and measures at District 65 in response to concerned students, parents, and community members following the recent school violence. She talks about the launching of our new school website at the end of March, and shares her experience with two students who were "Superintendent for a Day." Once again she reminds us of the shopping rewards program at Heinen's grocery store and gives instructions for joining the District calendar.

January 2018: Monthly Update:
In this issue, Dr. Sophie talks about the process of teacher evaluations each year and emphasizes how proud she is of all the teaching professionals here at Lake Bluff Elementary school. She shares the results of the Community Survey that was taken earlier this year and notes that these results will be used in the Strategic Plan for 2018-2023. Dr. Sophie reminds everyone of the shopping rewards for our school district if you shop at Heinen's, and gives information regarding the District Calendar. Finally, she invites anyone that would like to meet with her to call Shelley Gough and set up at appointment.

November 2017: Monthly Update:
In this issue, Dr. Sophie reminds us that winter break is quickly approaching, and stresses the importance of student attendance as we begin to make travel plans.  She also reminds us of upcoming winter conferences, and tells about the 2nd Annual Career Day at LBMS. Finally, Dr. Sophie reminds us of the procedures used for school closings in the event of bad weather, and as always, welcomes the opportunity to meet with a group for coffee.

She also highlights student recognition, the Strategic Planning Committee, and winter closing notification procedures. In addition, she talks about the new website that is getting ready to launch and reminds us that she's always happy to get together with groups at homes or organizations.

In this issue, Dr. Sophie provides an update on Standards Based Grading at LBMS regarding the goal to provide parents and students with accurate feedback, and to reflect student growth. She also highlights the Teacher Institute Day held on September 22 where George Couros discussed the importance of building relationships, connecting with others, and becoming more innovative in our classrooms. In addition, Dr. Sophie talks about the Strategic Plan for the 2018-2023 school years and the intergovernmental agreement between Lake Bluff Schools and Lake Bluff Public Library.
